Whew, the Redfish Rodeo is finally over, and I know Charles Hiott and Peter Bessette are glad it is too. Charles and Peter did a wonderful job and we tried different things this year which was good and bad. We attempted to hold a Pro Fishing Tournament alongside the regular Classic which we soon found out was a mistake. We had to pivot and focus on the Classic which we called the Redfish Rodeo Fishing Classic. It all worked out in the end with good input from many and we learned a lot. From a financial perspective we raised some good money for the local Veteran groups. CCA provided independent weigh-in services and collected many live Redfish for the STAR Tournament. The remaining Redfish were released in Flagler County.
When this comes out, we will be running on a new website so there will be a different look and feel. Hang in there and I promise you will like it as you get used to it. The next meeting will be May 3rd and Elections will take place at that time. Matt Frettwell, Stayput Anchors will be the speaker to discuss shallow water anchoring.
We will be back on schedule for Free Monthly Tournaments and the next one will be the first of 2 Surf Tournaments and hosted by Mark Heffley. Food will be provided by Heli-Hogs and the main Raffle prize is a $400 Surf Fishing Cart that all fishermen want. Be sure to buy your raffles early. Before the Surf Tournament we will have the Bottom Trip so look to sign up for that.
Good Fishing and Good Catching
