School Programs

‘kids4reel’ has actively partnered with local Elementary and Middle Schools that offer fishing programs.

As an example, we support four Flagler Country Elementary schools and one Middle school with seed funds, some equipment such as rods/reels, bait provided by our ‘Fishbites’ sponsor and continuous coaching from our ‘kids4reel’ team of FSC members at their monthly outings.

In addition to fishing skills and techniques, our local youth learn about marine science, safety, conservation and fishing regulations.

Youth/teen school programs such as these positively Influence social/emotional learning (SEL) skills.

Future School Program initiatives under review include:

‘kids4reel’ educational program integration into school PE classes
Alignment of ‘kids4reel’ youth clinics with local schools
Providing ‘kids4reel’ member-donated, good working order, pre-fished rods/reels to participant school programs
Expansion beyond elementary/middle school to high schools for financial donations to support youth fishing initiative
